Tugela Ridley has worked in Africa since 2005 and currently lives in Nairobi, Kenya.
Tugela has travelled widely in Africa working for news agencies Agence France Presse (AFP), European Pressphoto Agency (EPA) and Reuters in DR Congo, Ghana, Liberia, Niger, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda.
Her news photography has been commissioned by publications including The Economist, Financial Times, GlobalPost and The Times and her photographs have been widely published in newspapers and magazines around the world.
Tugela has also undertaken numerous assignments for aid agencies and non-governmental organisations across Africa including DFID, Merlin, Save The Children, SightSavers and USAID. Her NGO work tends to focus on issues faced by women and children in the developing world.
She is available for assignments anywhere on the continent, but especially in East and Horn of Africa where she lives.
